A complex nose of blackberry and preserved strawberries, cedar and pine needle, smoked pork and jamon serrano, black pepper and pie crust. The supple palate opens with ripe black and red fruits. Profile shifts seamlessly into cured meats and barbeque, cedar, chocolate-covered cherries, cinnamon and black pepper and finishes with elegant, soft tannins and excellent length.

95 Points - Tasting Panel

A floral perfume with accents of red plum and black pepper. The palate is a silk road of gritty chocolate tannins that leads to red plum, dark chocolate cherries, jasmine, and grilled meat with soy sauce. The finish is pleasurable with a creamy cedar note.

91 Points - Wine Enthusiast

This is a proprietary estate-grown blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Zinfandel, aged in French oak (45% new). Savory flavors of earth, black licorice, tobacco, meat and leather are lifted on the palate by fresh blueberry and blackberry tones, dusted in chocolate shavings.

Vineyard Notes
Legend is an expression of Sonoma County's diversity. The blend is primarily sourced from our estate, the Annadel Gap Vineyard Located between Mt. Hood and the Sonoma Mountains, our site is characterized by thick morning fog and strong afternoon winds. Alluvial, glacial, and sedimentary influences create a wide array of soil types. Additional fruit was sourced from Dry Creek Valley.
Production Notes
Fruit was hand-harvested at night. Varietals were kept separate, hand sorted and fermented individually. 25-50% whole clusters, 5-6 days cold soak, gentle punch downs I -3 times daily, 14—24 days on skins before being gently basket pressed and then gravity fed to French oak barrels (45% new). The wines were aged 16 months on lees, gently fined, bottled unfiltered.
