Following three consecutive releases that received 96+ points. 2019 marks the fourth annual release of this show-stopping Cabernet-driven red blend created by Rockstar winemakers Philippe Melka & Maayan Koschitzsky. Dark ruby in color with obsequious fragrances of dark chocolate, black currant, cigar box, and Bing cherries. On the palate, firm age-worthy tannins are underscored by notes of rich berry flavors, with good natural acidity providing length and freshness.  The power of Cabernet Sauvignon complements perfectly the expressions of the Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre in this deliciously hedonistic wine.

The 2019 Proprietary Red Wine Legend is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Syrah, 8% Counoise, and the rest Grenache and Tannat, sourced from Sonoma County. This spicy, textured, herbal (although not green) effort has lots of red and black fruits, medium to full body, ripe tannins, and outstanding length. It’s a character-filled, satisfying red to drink over the coming 7-8 years.

Tasting Notes
The wine is opaque and dark-cherry red in appearance, with bright and enticing aromas of leather, cedar, brown sugar, and wild blackberry. Complex and layered, the palate is balanced with a beautiful dark fruit entry followed by a full mid-palate weighted with dark chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, and soft, persistent tanning. A crowd-pleasing, hedonistic delight that pairs the best from our Estate vineyard and our winemaking team's world-class Cabernet Sauvignon skills.
Production Notes
The wine was fermented in closed-top stainless steel tanks,open-top stainless steel tanks, and a French oak upright tank, with an average of 15% whole cluster pressed three days cold soak and 18 days on skins. Aged in 40% new French oak for 20 months.
Winemaker Notes
Philippe Melka and Maayan Koschitzky, consultants to some of Napa's most highly regarded vineyards, had full control of winemaking and blending of the 2019 Legend. Like their critically acclaimed 2016, 2017, and 2018 Legend, their goal was to craft this proprietary blend, bringing together the best from our own biodynamically farmed Estate, Annadel Gap Vineyard, complimented with specially sourced organic and sustainable wines from Sonoma County and Napa Valley.
