2017 Estate Roussanne/Viognier
The Annadel Gap Vineyard is a special place. Located between Mt. Hood and the Sonoma Mountains, our site is characterized by thick morning fog and strong afternoon winds. Alluvial, glacial, and sedimentary in uences create a wide array of soil types. Fruit was hand-harvested at night and arrived at the winery by daybreak. Varietals were kept separate; whole cluster pressed. Native yeast began primary fermentation in an egg-shaped vessel. Primary fermentation finished in neutral French barrels & puncheons for 4 months, blended and nished in stainless steel for an additional 2 months. Lightly fined and filtered.
Dewey honeysuckle with cucumber lime zest, lemon curd tart and snow pea freshness. Brilliantly fresh and bright with notes of citrus flower
Palate: Bright and minerally with Meyer lemon expressiveness. Juicy yet focused with wet, flinty slate on the mid-palate and finished with citrus blossom. Persistent yet juicy and lithe.
