2018 Westwood Pinot Noir, Gap's Crown Vineyard, Sonoma Coast
In Stock
Our second release of Gap’s Crown Pinot Noir sourced from very small and very select vineyard blocks in the prized Petaluma Gap. Ruby red-purple. The wine displays concentrated aromatics that burst from the glass, offering cherry cobbler, raspberry, and violets centered on a forest floor base note. The palate is broad and deep, with soft tannins creating elegant length and texture. Flavors are bright and lively of berry compote, freshly smashed cherries, juicy strawberry and lingering hints of five-spice and orange peel. Buoyed by energetic yet interwoven natural acids and threaded with very fine-grained tannins. Presents a lingering, long lasting finish.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
The iconic Gap's Crown Vineyard is located just south of the heart of the Sonoma Coast AVA. Completely exposed to the strong coastal winds of the Pacific Ocean and encompassed by the marine layer fog, this site is unique in many ways. We are very excited for the opportunity to work with the beautiful Pinot Noir from this vineyard.
Winemaker Notes
Both Pinot Noir clones were hand-harvested at night and then sorted and fermented individually. Six days cold soak, gentle punch downs 1-3 times daily,16-18 days on the skins, gently basket pressed to French oak barrels (51% new). Aged h>r 18 months, then bottled unfiltered.
