We are thrilled to present the very first bottling of our 2021 Founder's Reserve Chardonnay, a wine that embodies the vision and passion of Westwood Estate. Crafted by the celebrated winemakers Philippe Melka and Maayan Koschitzky, this Chardonnay is the epitome of elegance and refinement. With its radiant golden hue and alluring aromas of citrus blossoms and toasted vanilla, it offers a sensory journey that delights the senses. Tasting Notes
Rich acidity, bright, focused aromas of fuji apple and Asian pear, and crushed limestone. The 2021 shows spectacular minerality and a viscous,mouth-filling textural quality.
Vineyard Notes
The Sangiacomo "Roberts Road" Vineyard is an iconic and revered site located in the renowned Sonoma Coast region of California. With its distinct terroir and meticulous farming practices, this vineyard has earned a reputation for producing exceptional Chardonnay grapes. Situated in far west end of the Petaluma Gap AVA, the Sangiacomo "Roberts Road" Vineyard benefits from a unique microclimate influenced by its proximity to the Pacific Ocean. The cooling maritime breezes and fog that sweep through the area provide ideal conditions for growing high-quality Chardonnay grapes.
Production Notes
The fruit was hand-harvested at night, then whole-cluster pressed. Barrel fermented, aged sur lie in small lots using new French oak barrels. Partial malolactic fermentation.
