The combination of 40% whole cluster fermentation, 22 days of skin contact, and 26 months in 100% new French oak has created a formidable structural backbone.
This release is more than just a Napa Valley Cabernet; it is the culmination of nearly three decades of learning the land, refining our craft, and relentlessly pursuing excellence in winemaking. 2022 marks our fifth year collaborating with renowned winemakers Philippe Melka and Maayan Koschitzky to make this wine. This Syrah-dominant blend, inspired by the exceptional terroir of our Annadel Gap Vineyard, embodies the vision behind our family-owned winery. Westwood’s Founding Partner Carl Stanton’s dream was to produce wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Côte-Rôtie caliber, and the Twenty-One is a testament to that aspiration. This wine showcases the unique character of cool-climate Rhône varietals from our Biodynamic and Organic certified Estate vineyard.
